THE GREEN ROOM THEATRE AUDITION SCHEDULE 2016-2017 Season
All auditions are at 7:00pm, unless otherwise noted.
The Green Room casts regardless of color, race or disability. The director has sole discretion with regards to the casting of the show. The director will cast the best choice for each role after the audition process is complete. If at that time, the director feels that the show cannot be cast satisfactorily from those who auditioned, the director may contact additional actors. On rare occasions a show may be precast with a guest artist, if this is the case, all audition material will indicate the role that is affected. The director may contact actors with an invitation to audition; however, this does not imply a guaranteed offer to be part of the production.
You may be asked to attend a “call back” to allow the director to see more of your work as an actor. The call back does not mean that you will be offered a part; likewise NOT being called back does not mean that you will not be cast.
All actors will be contacted regarding the final casting decisions of a production within two weeks after the final auditions.
All auditions will be held at the Old Post Office Playhouse located at 10 South Main Avenue, Newton, NC 28658. Please enter at the lower level door at the back of the building (on South Ashe Avenue). The front of the building will be closed.

This hit comedy tells the exploits of French bachelor Bernard and his three lovely female flight attendants, from three different countries – and they all believe they’re engaged to Bernard! He has always been able to juggle these women due to their flight schedules, but when they all end up at his apartment on the same day, Bernard struggles to keep them from learning the truth. GENERAL AUDITION GUIDELINES
- You must be able to be at ALL performances of the show, including scheduled school shows and producer’s night performances (which will be announced at auditions).
- Most auditions begin at 7:00, but there may be changes. For example, shows with younger actors may schedule earlier auditions. You only need to attend one night of auditions, not both.
- Always wear comfortable clothing for a possible movement audition.
- Musicals require a prepared song (about 2 pages worth). The song does not have to be from the musical, but should be from the musical theatre genre. Please bring sheet music for the accompanist. A cappella auditions are discouraged. Pop, rock, and country songs are discouraged unless the show you are auditioning for includes those types of music.
- Be prepared to stay for the entire audition time.
All auditions will be held at the Old Post Office Playhouse located at 10 South Main Avenue, Newton, NC 28658. Usually, you will be asked to enter at the lower level door at the back of the building (on South Ashe Avenue).
