Cast of Characters
Gabriel Beech (Squire Trelawney) has appeared at The Green Room (TGR) in numerous productions, most recently, To Kill a Mockingbird. He is a 6th grader at Tuttle Elementary where he serves as Student Council President. In his spare time, Gabe enjoys playing the piano and singing, and he runs his own successful cupcake business.
*Daniel Bermudez-Rivera (Black Dog) attends Bandys High School where he is a sophomore and active in the drama program having appeared in Red Herring, Dearly Departed, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. His hobbies include writing, reading, and making and editing videos. Daniel says making people happy is his job!
Max Charles (Pirate) is a 4th grader at Snow Creek Elementary. His TGR credits include The Frog Prince, The Clockmaker’s Child, and Isabella at the Circus. He plays the piano, loves history, and is playing basketball for the first time this year.
*Lillie Curtis (Inn Customer) has been in many plays at her church and at school, Sherrill Ford Elementary, where she is in the 6th grade and active in Battle of the Books, Digital Leadership, Robotics, and Odyssey of the Mind. Lillie also enjoys playing piano and guitar, reading, playing soccer, and just being outside.
Jacob Fincannon (Billy Bones) is a freshman at Challenger Early College and a member of the school’s Spirit Club. He has participated in TGR’s Summer Shakespeare Theatre Institute (SSTI) and was in the casts of Isabella at the Circus and West Side Story. Jacob also enjoys dancing and took lessons for three years.
Kaylyn Hall (Inn Customer) is no stranger to the stage—in fact, it’s her favorite place to be. She has performed at TGR, HCT, the HUB (Hudson), Foothills Performing Arts, and CAST. A 6th grader at Lyle Creek, she plays basketball, is in Battle of the Books, loves to sing, and dreams of seeing her name in lights on Broadway some day.
Parker Hallman (Jim Hawkins) serves as President of the International Thespian Society at Bandys. A junior, he is also active in the Drama Club, Chorus, and Science Olympiad. He enjoys attending local productions and listening to Broadway soundtracks. TGR credits include Robin Hood, Miss Nelson Is Missing, and To Kill a Mockingbird.
*Andrew Hatley (Long John Silver) has performed at Bandys High School (For Whom the Southern Bell Tolls, Red Herring, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream), Horn in the West (Boone), and the Carolina Renaissance Festival (Huntersville). A junior, he is active in the school’s Drama Club and Beta Club. Andrew also enjoys writing.
*Cora Hatley (Pirate) is a 4th grader at Balls Creek Elementary, and like her brother Andrew, has performed with Horn in the West and the Carolina Renaissance Festival. She has participated in SSTI and in Journey Through Bethlehem at Lakeview Baptist in Hickory. She loves to go horseback riding and enjoys playing volleyball and basketball.
Layla Isenhour (Pirate) enjoys baking cakes, playing with her brother, putting together Legos, and taking dance at Miss Treva’s. She is on the Battle of the Books team and the Student Council at Shuford Elementary where she is in the 4th grade. TGR credits: Creative Works, SSTI, Miracle on 34th Street, Robin Hood, and Isabella at the Circus.
Maleah Jewell (Inn Customer) first appeared onstage at TGR in Princess & the Magical Pea. Other TGR shows include The Frog Prince, Robin Hood, and Isabella at the Circus. She also appeared in The Legend of Sleepy Hollow at River Bend Middle School. Maleah is a freshman at Bunker Hill where she is also a member of the track team.
*Tate Levin (Captain Smollett) is a Boy Scout who is in the 8th grade at Northview Middle School where he played “Jacob Marley” in A Christmas Carol. He has performed with ClaterKaye Theatreworks and in The Music Man at HCT. His hobbies include special effects makeup, playing the cello and ukulele, and doing card tricks.
*Peyton Messler (Dirk) is enjoying being in his first play at TGR. He is a 5th grader at Rock Springs Elementary whose hobbies include playing basketball, sketching, and playing the xylophone and the guitar. Peyton is also active in Cub Scouts, and is currently a Webelo Scout.
Aidan Nigrelli (Dr. Livesey) is an 8th grader at Northview where he appeared as “Scrooge” in the school production of A Christmas Carol. He also performed in LRU’s Ragtime and TGR’s The Clockmaker’s Child. A member of the Beta Club, he enjoys history, playing the piano and cello, and singing. He also has a substantial hat collection.
*Christian Ortiz (Pirate) has attended SSTI at TGR, and he has performed in dance recitals at his school, South Newton. A 5th grader, he enjoys playing basketball and baseball. His hobbies also include gaming and vlogging. He is thrilled to be making his TGR mainstage debut in this exciting production!
Lucas Osborne (Blind Pew) has participated in many Creative Works classes and Shakespeare camps here at TGR. He most recently appeared here onstage in Isabella at the Circus and in Peter Pan at Arndt Middle School where he is an 8th grader. He likes to read, and his love of singing recently earned him a trip to the Wingate Honors Chorus.
Jonas Pendell (Inn Customer) is learning to play the baritone and trumpet at Newton-Conover Middle School where he is in the 7th grade. He has been in several Shakespeare in the Park productions and was on the mainstage in TGR’s Robin Hood. In his spare time, Jonas enjoys listening to music and drawing.
Kinsey Rothenberger (Pirate) is in the 8th grade at River Bend Middle School where she plays trumpet in the Jazz Band and is a member of the Junior Beta Club. Her hobbies include skating, singing, and acting. TGR credits: The Frog Prince, Miracle on 34th Street, The Clockmaker’s Child, and Isabella at the Circus.
Trevor Sadlowski (Ben Gunn) is a 6th grade homeschooler who says The Green Room is one of his favorite places to be. He loves spending time with his friends at rehearsals, Shakespeare Camp, and in shows (most recently, The Cat in the Hat). Thanks to Hollie for this opportunity and to the cast for just being them!
*Katie Stone (Israel Hands) may be making her TGR debut, but she has appeared in Lincoln and Cleveland counties in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe; Charlotte’s Web; and Liberty Mountain—The Revolutionary Drama. A homeschooler who is dually-enrolled at Cleveland Community College, Katie also enjoys playing piano and guitar.
Zelda Stracener (Mrs. Hawkins) has appeared in The Clockmaker’s Child and Isabella at the Circus at TGR and in many shows at Arndt Middle School where she is in the 8th grade. Zelda plays the clarinet and likes to hang out with her friends and family, play with her nephews, experiment with makeup, and be helpful to others.
Elli Trimble (Pirate) is a very active 6th grader who likes to snowboard and play soccer and volleyball. At her school, Sherills Ford, she is in the Robotics and Digital Leadership Clubs and on the Odyssey of the Mind team. At home, she is teaching herself to play the ukulele and the piano. Credits: Robin Hood (TGR), Aladdin (Bandys), and church plays.
Madi Trimble (Pirate) is a freshman at Bandys where she is involved with the Drama Club, FCA, Key Club, Varsity Green, and Pep Club. She performed at TGR in Robin Hood and at Bandys in Aladdin. Her hobbies also include playing tennis and soccer.
*Savanna Vargas (O’Brien) loves music. She plays the piano, French horn, and clarinet, and plans to learn violin. A freshman, she performs with the Bandys concert and jazz bands, and she also participates in the Pep, Beta, and Drama clubs. She likes to go horseback riding, plays volleyball, and is a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do.
*Abby Wallace (Inn Customer) has taken TGR Creative Works classes and was a costume assistant for Beauty and the Beast. She is a 7th grade homeschooler who enjoys playing the guitar and ukulele, designing and sewing costumes, fixing hair, reading, drawing, and painting. She can also ride a unicycle and juggle!
Christin White (Pirate) is a homeschooled 9th grader who made her TGR debut in Miracle on 34th Street. She has also performed in several shows with CAST in Granite Falls. Christin loves books, comics, videogames, is learning to play the violin, and is a proud member of Iron Spirits Martial Arts.
Maddyson Wilson (Old Kate) has been acting for 10 years in school shows, at HCT, and at TGR (most recently, West Side Story). A sophomore at Bunker Hill, she is a member of the Drama Club. Maddy is also in the process of publishing her debut novel, Doubt the Stars. She dedicates this performance in memory of her 2nd mother, Gina Humphries.
*Kelsey Wise (Pirate) is an 8th grader at Arndt Middle School where she is in the Junior Beta Club. She has been in many school shows and in Isabella at the Circus at TGR. She enjoys dancing with Miss Treva’s School of Dance, crocheting, fishing, and hunting. She dreams of attending NC State University and becoming a veterinarian.

Jonathan Banner (Technical Director and Sound Designer) graduated from Gardner-Webb in 2013 with a Theatre Arts degree with a concentration in Technical Theatre. He volunteered at TGR while in high school and began full-time in January 2014. When not at the theatre, he enjoys spending time with friends.
John David Brown, III (Costume Designer) is the Creative Director at TGR and has directed, costumed, and acted in many productions here. His most recent directing credits include last season’s Mary Poppins and Isabella at the Circus, and this season’s Beauty and the Beast. David feels blessed to be a part of a community that values and appreciates the enrichment that the Arts bring to our lives.
Katy Sigmon (Lighting Designer) is a Lighting Designer, Costume Designer, and Wig & Makeup Artist. She stays busy designing costumes and lights for several area theatres and is as a Teaching Artist for TGR’s Creative Works classes. Love to Caleb and Glory to Papa.
Hollie Sherrill (Director) has taught drama and theatre arts in Catawba County for the past 24 years, currently at Bandys High School. She also stays busy at TGR with Shakespeare in the Park, Summer Shakespeare Theatre Institute, Creative Works, and the Green Bean Players. Recent directing credits include Robin Hood and Twelfth Night, and recent TGR acting credits include Romeo & Juliet, Southern Fried Funeral, and Southern Fried Nuptials. She has many professional credits as well. Hollie received her BS from Appalachian State University and an MEd from UNC-Greensboro.
Jared Wachsmuth (Stage Manager) has appeared in many shows here at TGR and has often helped backstage and with scenic elements, but this is his first time as stage manager. A recent graduate of Bunker Hill, he was active in the band, choral, and theatre departments and also played soccer. He is a gifted painter and enjoys working with props. Recent TGR credits: Big River, Southern Fried Funeral, Mary Poppins, West Side Story, Southern Fried Nuptials, and Beauty and the Beast.
